Solution

a)NaHCO3 (Sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate) on heating produces CO2 which extinguishes fire, so it is used as fire extinguisher.

Chemical reaction

2NaHCO3 + Heat CO2+ Na2CO3 +H2O

b) Ca(OH)2 + Cl2 → CaOCl2 + H2O

c) On heating gypsum at 373 K, it loses water molecules and becomes calcium sulphate hemihydrate ( CaSO4. 1/2 H2O). This is called Plaster of Paris.
