A solution contains 10 g of tangy orange powder dissolved in 300 g of water. Calculate the concentration of this solution in terms of mass by mass percentage.

Given,
Mass of solute = 10 g
Mass of solvent = 300 g
So, the mass of solution = Mass of solute + Mass of solvent
= 10 + 300 = 310 g

Mass by mass percentage of a solution (m/m%) =Mass of soluteMass of solution×100

[1 Mark]

Putting values in formula, = (10/310) x 100
= 3.22 %

So, the concentration of the given solution in terms of mass by mass percentage is 3.22 %.
