Question

. A solution contains 30g of NaCl in 600g of water. Calculate the concentration of this solution using the concentration term ‘mass by mass percentage’.

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Weight of NaCl = 30 g
Weight of H2O = 600 g
Weight of solution = 30 + 600 = 630 g

The concentration of solution = Mass of solute Mass of solution×100
Concentration = 30630×100 = 4.76 %

Hence, the concentration in terms of mass by mass percent is 4.76 %.
