A solution of CaCl2 is 0.5 mol/litre.

Hence, 1 litre of solution will contain 0.5 moles of CaCl2.

0.500 litres of solution will contain 0.500 L×0.5 mol/litre=0.25 moles of CaCl2

1 mole of CaCl2=2 moles of chloride ions.

0.25 moles of CaCl2=2×0.25=0.50 moles of chloride ions.
