Question

A solution which cannot dissolve more of a solute at a given temperature is called ______ solution at that temperature.

Open in App
Solution

Solution: A solution contains two components one is solute and another is solvent.

The components which are present in less amount are known as solute and the component present in larger amount is known as a solvent.

Saturated solution: A solution in which no more solute can be dissolved in a fixed amount of solvent at a given temperature is called a saturated solution.

In this case, the maximum amount of solute dissolved in the solvent.

For example:

36g of NaCl in 100g of water at room temperature forms a saturated solution.

Here, the maximum amount of salt is dissolved in this saturated solution.

Conclusion:

Therefore, A solution which cannot dissolve more of a solute at a given temperature is called a saturated solution at that temperature.
