Solve:

$\frac{2}{3} + \frac{1}{7}$

Solution

The given fractions are $\frac{2}{3}$ and $\frac{1}{7}$ . Since they have different denominators they are unlike fractions.

L.C.M of the denominators of the given fractions i.e. L.C.M. of 3 and 7 is 21.

$∴ \frac{2}{3} + \frac{1}{7} = \frac{2 \times 7 + 1 \times 3}{21} = \frac{14 + 3}{21} = \frac{17}{21}$
