A sphere of radius 5 cm is immersed in water filled in a cylinder, the level of water rises 53 cm. Find the radius of the cylinder.
Radius of sphere (r1)=5cm
∴Volume=43πr31=43π(5)3=5003πcm3
Level of water rises in the cylinder after immersing the sphere in it
∴ Height of water level =53cm
Let r be radius of the cylinder, then volume of water = Volume of the sphere
πr2h=5003π⇒πr2×53=5003π⇒r2=5003×35=100=(10)2∴r=10 cm
Hence, radius of cylinder = 10 cm
