Solution

The correct option is C 5V8R
Initial angular momentum about O is,

Li=MV(RR8)

Li=7MVR8

After collision with O,

Lf=Iω

I=(25MR2+MR2)=75MR2

Lf=75MR2ω

Applying angular momentum conservation,

Li=Lf

MV(7R8)=75MR2ω

ω=7V8×57R

ω=5V8R

Hence, option (C) is the right choice.
Why this question?
This question involves concepts of toppling and conservation of angular moment simultaneously.
