Solution

The correct option is D 1800
The energy radiated per second by a black body is given by Stefan's law,
Et=σT4×A
where A is the surface area of the black body
Et=σT4×4πr2
Since black body is a sphere, A=4πr2
Case (i)
Et=450,T=500 K,r=0.12 m,
450=4πσ(500)4(0.12)2....(i)
Case (ii)
Et=?,T=1000 K,r=0.06 m...(ii)
Dividing Eq. (ii) by Eq. (i), we get
E/t450=(1000)4(0.06)2(500)4(0.12)2=2422=4
Et=450×4=1800 W.
