The correct option is B 20%
Let the side of the square =a and the breadth of the rectangle is x% less than the side of the square.

Breadth of the rectangle =a(1x100)

Length of the rectangle =a(1+25100)
=a×125100
=a×54

Area of the rectangle = Area of the square {Given}

54a×a(1x100)=a×a
(100x)80=1
100x=80
x=10080
=20
Hence the breadth of the rectangle is 20% less than the side of the square.
