The correct option is D $36$ sq. m
Let the area of path be $A$ .
It can be found by subtracting inner square area from outer square area.
length of side of inner square is $8$ m and that of outer square is $10$ m.
We k.n.t area of square of side ' $a$ ' is $a^{2}$ .
Area of inner square ( $A_{i}$ )= $a_{i}^{2} = 8^{2} = 64$ sq.m
Area of outer square ( $A_{o}$ )= $a_{o}^{2} = 10^{2} = 100$ sq.m
Area of path $=$ $A_{o} - A_{i} = 100 - 64 = 36$ sq.m
