The correct option is D 32 cm2
Length of the rectangle = 8 cm
Breadth of the rectangle = 6 cm
So, the area of the rectangle = length × breadth = 8×6 = 48 cm2
Also, area of each square = side × side = 2 × 2 = 4 cm2
Now, according to the question:
Area of resulting shape = area of rectangle – 4 × area of each square
= 48 – 4×4
= 48 – 16
= 32 cm2
