A square pyramid covers an area of 400 m2 on the ground and height of the pyramid is 10 m. Then find its total surface area of the pyramid
400(1+√2) m2
Given, Area of the base (Square) = 400 m2 ; Base edge = √400=20m Slant height = √(height of pyaramid)2+(base edge2)2
Height of pyramid = 10 m. Slant height = √102+102=10√2
Total surface area=base area+4×(12×base×slant height = 400+4×(12×20×10√2)
= 400+400√2=400(1+√2) m2
