If the height of the pyramid is 10 m, then find the total surface area of the pyramid.

Open in App
Solution

Given:
Base area of square pyramid =400 m2
Base edge2=400
Base edge=400=20 m

Also, the height of the pyramid = 10 m

Slant height=(height of pyramid)2+(base edge2)2

Slant height =102+102=102

Therefore,
Total surface area of pyramid
=Base area+4×(12×base edge×slant height)
=400+4×(12×20×102)
=400+4002
=400+565.68
=965.68 m2
