Question

a. State how resistance of a conductor is affected when low current passes through it for short duration. b) a heavy current passes through it for 30 seconds

Open in App
Solution

We know that from ohm's law the current is inversely proportional to resistance i.e. greater the current less is the resistance and vice versa. Therefore,

(i) when a low current passes through it for a short duration the resistance of a conductor will increase.

(ii) when a high current passes through it the resistance of a conductor will decrease.
