(a) State whether the current is a scalar or vector? What does the direction of current convey?
(b) State whether the potential is a scalar or vector? What does the positive and negative sign of potential convey?
(a) Current is a scalar quantity. The direction of current simply shows the direction of flow of positive charges. This is opposite to the direction of flow of electrons.
(b) Potential is also scalar. In case of potential at a point, a positive potential means if you want to bring any positive charge at the point, you will have to do some positive work, while negative potential means you will have to do negative work.
