The correct option is A 6 mm
Since column ends are flushed, hence 50% of load is transfered through the splice and fastenings.

The load on each splice plate
=1200×1034=300×103 N

Sectional area of splice plate
=300×103240 N/mm2

=1250 mm2.

Thickness of splice plate
=1250250=56 mm
