A steel spoon having mass 200 gram has volume of 100 cc. What will be the volume of a steel glass having mass 600 gram?
300 cc
The relation of density with mass and volume is given by: d = mv
According to the above relation, density of spoon can be written as
dspoon=200 g100 cc=2gcc
and, density of glass can be written as
dglass=mv=600v
Both spoon and glass are made up of same type of metal i.e steel, hence they will have same density.
On equating, the density of spoon with density of glass, we get
2=600v
v = 300 cc
Hence, volume of glass is 300 cc.
