Young's coefficient Y of a wire of length l and cross section A , having weight mg is given by ,
Y=mglAΔl
or Δl=mglAY
where Δl= change in length
given - Y=2×1011N/m2,l=1m,A=1mm2=106m2,m=1kg
Hence , Δl=1×10×1106×2×1011=5×105m=0.05mm
