A stone is thrown vertically upwards and after ascending height 'h' it comes back to the hands of the thrower. Calculate the net displacement of the stone?

Displacement is the distance between the start and the endpoint.

It is a vector quantity.

Step 2: Calculating displacement,

Taking upward as positive (h),

Downward as negative (h).

Total displacement is =(h+(-h))=h-h=0

Hence, the displacement is 0 units.
