A storage tank in the form of a cube has water up to its brim. The amount of water in the tank is 4,096 m3. After sometime, some water was used and it is found that the depth of water present is 12 m. Find the volume of water used in cubic meters.

The storage tank is a cube of volume 4,096 m3
Let Side of cube = a m

Volume of cube,
a3=4096a=34096 =316×16×16a=16 m

The present depth of water = 12 m.

Depth of water already used, h=1612=4 m

Volume of water used
=a×a×h=16×16×4=1,024 m3
