Solution

The correct option is A 50π cm/s

Equation of standing wave is

y=A sin kx cos ωt

Speed of any point of string is

Vp=dydt=Aω sin kx sin ωt and Vp,max=Aω

Wave velocity, v=Tμ=800.2=20 m/s

By v=fλ20=f×40100f=50 Hz

By w=2πf=2×π×50

Vp,max=0.5100×2π×50=50π cm/s
