As student can see only upto 15 cm so if he wants to see black board which is at distance of 3 m he has to use a lens which can make an image of black board at 15 cm.

v=15 cm ; u=300 cm

Using lens formula,

1f=1v1u

1f=1151300

f=3001915.8 cm

Power of the lens P=1f

Where, f=focal length in meter

P=19×100300=193=6.33 D
