A student catches small aquatic creatures swimming in a pond and keeps them in his aquarium assuming them as fish. After a few days, he observes that forelimb and hind limbs are developed in those creatures like a frog.
(i) To which class of vertebrates do you include those aquatic creatures?
(ii) Name the process that has caused development of four limbs in them.

i) The organism belongs to amphibians. The larvae of the amphibians are free living and swim in the water. They can later develop to form the adult which can survive in terrestrial regions as well.
ii) The process is known as metamorphosis. The process results in the development of the characters in the larvae for the formation of the adult. The larvae and the adult are completely different in their characters.
