Solution

Cavity formation:

  • Cavities are formed when there is a breakdown of the outer, calcified enamel of the tooth by bacteria which is found in the human mouth.
  • The bacteria stick to the teeth and turn into a hard substance called dental plaque or calculus, which deposits on the teeth.
