Open in App
Solution

The maximum mark is 500.

The mark student Has got is 178
Needed 22 marks more for not failing in the examination

So the student getting pass mark is 178 + 22 = 200.

The Student Need only to get 40% of the total marks

So 178+22 is the pass mark( that is 40% of total marks)

40% mark is 200. Then LetLthe 100% mark be 'X'.

To find out maximum mark ,

=> 40% of 'X' = 100%*200.

=> X = (200*100%)/40%.

=> X = 500.

That is The Maximum Mark Is 500

(we can Crosscheck it. That is 500 × (40/100) Gives 200, that is the passmark) so the answer is perfectly Correct As per the Question.
