A student obtained a sharp image of a lighted candle on the screen using a convex lens. Now he wants to focus a distant lamp on the screen. In which direction should the lens be moved for this purpose with respect to the screen, to get a sharp image on the screen?

As the distance of the object is increased, the image formed by the convex lens will be closer to the focus. Hence the lens should be moved towards the screen.
