A student repeats the experiment to determine the boiling point of pure water with the same set up by adding some salt to the distilled water. Will the boiling point so determined be same or different from the boiling point of pure water? Give reason.

The boiling point of the salt solution will increase, since elevation in boiling point is a colligative property.
When the increase in the boiling point is directly proportional to the number of solute particles added to the pure water.
