Question

A submarine after travelling 100km from the shore,descended 11/10 km below the sea level. Then it ascended about 3/5 km. The next day it again descended by 9/10 km. What is it current position with respevt to the sea level?. Whar i sthe horizontal distance of the submarine from the sea shore

First submarine decend by 11/10 km so current position is -11/10 km .

Now it assends by
3/5 km so now position is -11/10 + 3/5
= -1/2

Again it descends by 9/10 so now current position is -1/2 - 9/10

= -14/10 = -7/5
so i is at 7/5 km below sea level.

- sign indicates that it is below sea level.

and the horizontal distance of submarine from the sea shore remains the same as 100KM
