A submarine is travellingat a speed of 220 mph at a depth of 1600 miles from sea level . To avoid detection ,it further goes down 220 miles . Later when it reaches safe zone , it ascends 440 miles . Finally ,what is the depth of submarine from sea level ?

In starting submarine is at 1600 miles then

To avoid detection or to reach safe level it further goes down by 220 miles.

So, total depth now from sea level = 1600 +
220 = 1820.

Now it assends (go up)440 miles So, finally submarine is at a depth of

1600 + 220 - 440
1820 - 440 = 1380 miles
