Question

A submarine was floating at a depth of 420 metres below the see level. If it ascends 210 metres ,what will be the new position? Express the position in terms of height.

Solution

The submarine is below sea level. So if it ascends, we subtract the height/distance of its ascent from its original position.

420 m- 210m = 210 m
