Solution

We know that :simple interest = Principal×rate×time100Interest at the end of first year = 1000 × 4 × 1100 = Rs 40Interest at the end of second year = 1000×4×2100 = Rs 80Interest at the end of third year = 1000×4×3100 = Rs 120and so on.Now, the list of interest in Rs in each year is :40, 80, 120, ........The above list is in AP with first term, a = 40 and common difference, d = 80-40 = 40Interest at the end of 20 yrs = t20 = a+19d = 40 + 19×40 = 40 + 760 = Rs 800
