Solution

Given, total number of boys =250

Number of boys do like coffee (E)=110

Number of boys do not like coffee (F)=140

Step 1: Find the probability of boys who like coffee.

we know that

Probability of favorable outcome P=NumberoffavorableoutcomeTotalnumberofboys

Probability of selecting a boy who likes coffee P(E)=Numberofboysdolikecoffee(E)Totalnumberofboys=110250=0.44

Step 2: Find the probability of boys who does not like coffee.

Probability of selecting a boy who doesn't like coffee P(F)=Numberofboysdonotlikecoffee(F)Totalnumberofboys=140250=0.56

Hence, the probability that the selected boy: (i) likes coffee is 0.44 (ii) does not like coffee is 0.56.
