Solution

The dimension of bigger box is 15×20×5.

The outer surface area =2(15×20+20×5+5×15)=950 cm square

The area of extra sheet =5% of 950=950×(5100)=47.5

The total area of cardboard required for bigger box =950+47.5=997.5 cm square

The dimension of smaller box is 10×12×5.

The outer surface area =2(10×12+12×5+5×10)=460 cm square

The area of extra sheet =5% of 460=460×(5100)=23

The total area of cardboard required for bigger box =460+23=483 cm square

For 250 boxes of each kind required cardboard =100×(997.5+483)=100×1480.5=148050 cm square

Cost of the card board =148050×(4.51000)=Rs.666.225
