Solution

The correct option is B 592 sq. m
The area of the swimming pool can be divided into three parts A, B, and C as shown:

Both part A and part C are squares of side 6 m each.
You know,
Area of a Square=Length ×Length

So, area of square A will be
=6 m×6 m=36 sq.m.

Area of square C will be
=6 m×6 m=36 sq.m.

Now, for part B, you have,
Breadth =26 m6 m=20 m
Length =20 m+6 m=26 m

You know,
Area of a rectangle=Length×Breadth

∴ Area of rectangle B will be=26 m×20 m=520 sq.m

Total area of the swimming pool will be
=Area of A+Area of B+Area of C.=36 sq.m+520 sq.m+36 sq.m =592 sq.m

Hence, the total area required for the swimming pool is 592 sq.m
