A switch must not be touched with wet hands
while putting it on or off because if water
reaches the live wire, it forms a conducting
layer between the hand and the live wire of
the switch through which the current passes
to the hand and the person may get a fatal
shock.
In fact, even our body, which is normally not a
good conductor, is forced to become a good
conductor when the current through it is too
high, which is why shocks are dangerous to
humans
