A table covers 4 m $\times$ 2 m is spread on a table. If 25 cm of the table cover is hanging all around the table, find the area of the table.

Length of cover = $l=4m=400cm$

Breadth of cover = $b=2m=200cm$

But, $25cm$ of the cover is hanging from the table on all four sides.

Therefore, Length = $(400-25-25)=350cm=3.5m$

Breadth = $(200-25-25)=150cm=1.5m$

Area of table = $length\times breadth=3.5\times 1.5=5.25$ $m^2$
