A table top measures 2m by 1m50cm. What is its area in square meters ?

Finding area of the table top :

According to the question, we have to find the rea in square metres.

Here, length is in meter but breadth is not in meter so we convert the bredath into metres.

We know that 1m=100cm

So 50cm=50÷100=0.5m

Therefore, 1m50cm=1+0.5=1.5m

Now, the units of length and breadth are same and in metres.

We know that,area of recatangle =length×breadth

SO, area of table top =2×1.5=3.0m2

Hence, area of the table top in square metres is 3.0m2
