A tank 72cm long,36cm high, contains water at a depth of 18cm .A metal block 48 cm by 36 cm by 15 cm is put into the tank and totally submerged .Find in cm the amount the water level rises.

Answer=10 cm rise in water level
You did not give breadth of tank i am considering breadth=36 cm
Volume of the water in the tank=Length*Breadth*Height=72*36*18=46656cm3
Volume of water block=48*36*15=25920cm3
volume of water level now equal to sum of volume of inital water and block volume
let l be the final length of water level after submerging metal block
so 72*36*l=72*36*18+48*36*15
l=28cm
so volume of water rise by 10 cm
