A tank is in the shape of a square based pyramid. The base is $3$m and height is $2.5$m. Find the capacity of water in liters.

We use the conversion $1m^3=1000$ litres. We know that $a=3$m and $h=2.5$m. Hence $V=\frac{1}{3}\times a^2\times h=\frac{1}{3}\times 3^2\times 2.5=7.5m^3$
Thus the volume is $7.5m^3$. Converting this to litres, capacity of the tank $=7.5\times 1000=7500$ litres.
