Here, x = 25 and y = 50

$\therefore$ Part of the tank filled or emptied in 1 minutes

$=\frac{1}{x}-\frac{1}{y}=\frac{1}{25}-\frac{1}{50}=\frac{1}{50}$

Which is positive, therefore the tank will be filled.

$\therefore$ Total time taken to fill the tank
= 50 minutes
