A taxi leaves the station X for station Y every 10 minutes. Simultaneously, a taxi leaves the station Y also for station X every 10 minutes. The taxis move at the same constant speed and go from X to Y or vice-versa in 2 hours. How many taxis coming from either side will each taxi meet en route from Y to X?

The correct option is B 23
If we represent our problem diagramatically like this,
We can say that at each and every time stamp there will be a car travelling in both directions.

As a taxi (say taxi A) leaves Y, it will encounter one taxi at its start and one taxi at the time stamp. This means for every 10 minutes of travelling of taxi A, it will encounter 2 taxis. But at final time stamp i.e. X, it will encounter only one taxi as the next one will not have started its journey.

So totally we get 23 taxis meeting en route.
