The above diagram represents the tent. It can be considered as a combination of a cylinder and a cone.

The cone is placed on top of the cylinder. When this happens the top flat surface of cylinder and bottom flat surface of cone join together. These 2 surfaces will now be inside the combined solid and hence will be invisible to the eye.

In other words these 2 surfaces- one circular section for cylinder and circular section of cone will not be a part of the tent’s total surface area.
