Solution

Lets form a conical tent according to according to given information,

For conical portion we have

r=2 m ;l=2.8 m
S1= curved surface area of conical portion
S1=πrl
S1=π×2×2.8 m2
S1=5.6π m 2
for the cylindrical portion, we have
r=2 m ;l=2.1 m
S2= curved surface area of the cylindrical portion
S2=2πrh=2π×2 m×2.1 m=8.4π m2
Area of the canvas used for makine the tent,
=S1+S2=(5.6π+8.4π)m2=14×227 m2=44 m2
It is given that, the rate of the canvas is Rs. 500/m2
Total cost of the canvas at the rate of Rs. 500/m 2=Rs. (500×44)= Rs. 22000
