Solution

The correct option is B heterozygous dominant
Let us assume that the allele responsible for yellow colour of seeds is Y and the one responsible for green colour of seeds is y.

In pea plants, it has been observed that yellow seed colour is dominant over green seed colour.

Test cross is conducted between the dominant phenotype and recessive individual. It helps us to predict the genotype of the dominant phenotype for a specific character.

Hence, the pea plant producing yellow-coloured seeds is crossed with a pea plant producing green coloured seeds (test cross).

According to the question, the progeny of the cross had 50% plants producing yellow coloured seeds and 50% of plants producing green coloured seeds.

A ratio of 1 : 1 is possible when the parent plant producing yellow seeds is heterozygous dominant (Yy).
