A wooden stick

Wood is a poor conductor of electricity and hence it does not allow electric current to flow through it easily. Therefore, owing to a lack of flow of current, the bulb doesn't glow. On the contrary, copper, iron and gold are good conductors of electricity and hence there would have been a flow of current in the circuit subsequently resulting in the glowing of the bulb.
