The present age of the father is 42 years and that of his son is 14 years. Find the ratio of:

Present age of father to the present age of son.

Given, the present age of father = 42

Present age of son = 14

Ratio of father's present age to that of son

= $\frac{P r e s e n t a g e o f f a t h e r}{P r e s e n t a g e o f s o n}$

= $\frac{42}{14}$ = $\frac{3}{1}$ = 3 : 1 [Dividing numerator and denominator by HCF of 42 and 14 i.e. 14]
