Solution

Speed of the police car=80km/hr

Speed of train=60km/hr

Speed of thief on the train=12km/hr

Therefore,speed of the thief=60+12km/hr

=72km/hr

Hence, speed of the thief w.r.to police car =72-80

=-8km/hr

since speed cant be negative this means speed of the thief is less than the police car.

hope it helps frnd
