Given:
Power produced, P1=500 kW
Generating voltage, V1=2500 V
Resistance per unit length, α=0.025 Ω/km
Length of transmission line, L=200 km
Distribution voltage, V2=240 V

Let the current near the thermal power plant be I1.
From definition of power,
P1=V1I1
5×105=2500 I1
I1=200 A

Total resistance of transmission cable:
R=αL
R=0.025×200=5 Ω

Power loss during transmission,
Ploss=I21×R
Ploss=2002×5=200 kW

Power reaching to the distribution transformer,
P2=P1Ploss
P2=500200=300 kW

Assuming ideal transformer and using definition of power,
P2=V2×I2
3×105=240 I2
I2=1250 A
