Speed of police motorcycle VP=10 m/s
Separation of jeep from motorcycle, (d)=100 m
Therefore,
Relative velocity of policeman w.r.t. thief
(VPT)=VPVT=(10 m/s 9 m/s)=1 m/s.

Time taken by police to catch the thief
